Our client, a Danish insurance company, sought an innovative solution to help their corporate clients promote health and wellness in the workplace. They envisioned a mobile app for employees, insured through company’s policies, and offer personalized health insights and care plans while fostering healthier habits.

Our role was to develop a mobile app focused on step tracking and goal setting, ensuring seamless data synchronization with a web platform for better health reporting.
The goal
The primary goal was to develop a mobile app that could accurately track users’ steps and allow them to set personalized activity goals.
The app had to sync this data with a backend API, providing holistic view of health metrics and enabling it to contribute to more accurate health plans, tailored to each user’s unique needs, and anonymized health reports, genereted by the client’s system, to enable preventive health strategies.
The challenge
Two major challenges defined the project:

Short deadline: The client needed the app delivered quickly. To meet this deadline, we chose Flutter, a cross-platform framework, enabling us to develop both Android and iOS versions simultaneously without sacrificing quality.

Battery optimization: Accurate step tracking had to be achieved without draining the user’s battery. This required careful optimization of background processes to ensure smooth performance and reliable data collection.
The solution
We developed a healthcare mobile app that integrates seamlessly with Google Fit, leveraging the device’s sensors to record physical activities such as walking. This data syncs with the client’s backend system, providing the necessary input for generating precise health reports and recommendations.

Users can monitor their daily steps and set personalized goals within the app. The data is automatically sent to the client’s backend via API integration, supporting more detailed and accurate health insights.
Google Fit integration & physical activity monitoring
The app uses Google Fit’s health-tracking platform to record physical activity through mobile device sensors. This ensures a holistic view of users' activity levels, improving the accuracy of the collected data while maintaining battery efficiency.
Web integration for health monitoring
Data collected by the mobile app is synced with the client’s web platform, allowing companies to view anonymized reports that track collective well-being trends and provide insights for health promotion strategies.
